Throughout the years, I've dabbled in various arts and crafts—watercolor, crochet, felt art, sculpting—but none have stirred my emotions quite like candlemaking.
I stumbled upon candle making back in 2022, yet it wasn't until 2024 that I mustered the courage to start selling my creations. Why the delay? Life happened—family, work, money, time, and a myriad of other obligations. But above all, candlemaking is an art that demands patience, perseverance, creativity, trial and error, humility, and surprisingly, a good amount of math.
Launching Violescent Candle Co. has been a whirlwind of emotions. Fortunately, I have an incredible family who not only tolerates my passion but also cheers me on. My amazing husband Daniel leads the pack as my biggest supporter, with my eldest daughter Amaya and my twin girls Iris and Dahlia not far behind. They are my ultimate cheer squad.
The word "violescent" caught my eye as the word of the day on my dictionary app one morning (I'm a sucker for learning new words). It means "tending to a violet color"—my favorite hue. Violet embodies nobility, spirituality, ceremony, mystery, wisdom, enlightenment, arrogance, and mourning—all sentiments I've encountered on my journey. It's a color that resonates deeply with me. And so, Violescent Candle Co. was born—my fourth child, so to speak.
